#migupPenang : Selfie Coffee Penang

I posted a latte with my selfie on it, on Instagram. I kid you not.

We were on the way back to Syok and I saw #selfiecoffee. You know like bloggers very sensitive to this kind of hashtag kind of things right so when my roommates and I went back to Syok to rest ( activities has ended), we searched the hashtag on instagram. And viola! It's a newly opened cafe that was about a 7 min walk from Syok Hostel.
Selfie Coffee Penang

 What's so special?

Selfie Coffee Penang

My freaking selfie is on my drink duh?! Curious kittens like us were like omg how is it even possible and I'm so glad we checked out the place.

Selfie Coffee Penang

The ever friendly us talked to the staff while waiting for our table to be ready and we were told that they use a special printed that sprays the food dye into the cream foam.

Selfie Coffee Penang
To get a cuppa selfie coffee , you wait for your table to be ready, order and pay , then take a selfie with the meitu phone that they provides! A staff is assigned to edit the pictures that was taken into its template and all you need to do is go back to your seat, wait for your drink and prepare to selfie with it.

The selfie drink is available for hot beverage like coffee, mocha and chocolate. I has to choice chocolate cause it's my only choice. Each drink is priced at RM13.  Do expect half your drink to be foam because the food dye needs a certain amount of cream foam so that it can stay.

So expensive and hard to get of course I have to take more pictures.

Okay the foam sank down liao. So I drink also selfie. It's a selfie coffee shop so anything relating to selfie is legit.

No judging allowed.

p/s:  It's a memorable experience although the drink was average but it's not to be complained. It's not their main selling point what. I said it is memorable because it's a first and also how often you have your face on your drink? I don't quite get why the need a meitu phone for that selfie though. I thought a normal camera is good enough because your face is on foam and in this case why need to smoothen it ? Thought of that? Hahahah. Imma aashole but girls you all just got conned.

Cousins* Bangkok Travelogue Day 3

Day 3 of CousinsinBKK!
Behind me are the cousins looking at I don't know what.
p/s: look at the triplets wearing the same top at the back, think they scared they kena kidnap.
The tallest one must have stolen all the other two's milk when  they were yonuger.

On the third day of our trip, which happens to be on a Saturday, okay fine we planned it. -.-
Weekends in Bangkok are like almostttttt meant for Chatuchak Market. & so we walked to the *ahem nearest BTS Station and alighted at Mo Chit Station. Depending on which line is better for you, you may alight at Chatuchak Park too.

HELLO KITTY TRAINNNNN #hellokittyeverything
I want to take this train forever, SMRT time to work harder haha.
Oh! We brought breakfast from the streets from the stalls below our hotel. Super yummy pork porridge, you are add an extra egg at a small amount if you want.

Simple yet extraordinary yummy.
If I can find a boyfriend that makes porridge this yummy, I'll marry him.

Okay, I kid.

Don also managed to dabao some chicken rice don't know from where but I would just eat.

Okay okay come back to the day activity!

We entered the Chatuchak market and rest is history.

Not really , let us have some ice cream first.
 Ultimate favorite toppings
Shopped around, can't remember if we brought stuff but we reached the stage where the weather was attempting to melt us down, and we stumbled upon this little cafe #Savior. Okay never really stumbled upon la, we were looking for somewhere to sit down and found it! #withmotive.

We had a little bit of time left before we meet up with the boys so we accidentally went into the animals section and scare the shit outta me.
THEY SELL EVERYTHING. Joyce told me not to listen to Andy when he told me that they actually sell snakes and all sort of animals, & when I saw it...吓死我了。

Anyway here's some of the pictures I manage to take while managing my scares.
Really like the fishes and I wish I could dabao them back.
Cute little animals like bunnies, pups, kitten and idk what were also on sale.

Pardon me okay, my knowledge for animals is horrible and I dread the zoo the most.
Look at the pretty arowana fish and leopard printed stingray, hello cutie cutie!

I didn't take the exotic animals, obviously because I'm already trembling and screaming for SOS already. There were chicks, squirrels, chipmunks, hedgehog (if i remember seeing) and trays of worms (omg kill me now)
Don & I in the cab!

Back at platinum for dinner where we settled at the roadside store just like the first day.
After dinner, Jiaqi, Andy, Don & I went to Central World for desserts at After You Cafe.
We all know how popular their shibuya toast, so MAJOR YUMS

The last time I was there, I nearly starved ST to death.

Really want to try the other pastries, but I couldn't resist the honey toast.

the four of us with our noms !

Jiaqi & I continued to shop at the Siam Night market while the boys went on for their movie date. Both of us also had a foot massage after that because we thought it is uncool to go back hotel so early wtf. hahahah.
p/s: we had to braced ourselves through the carpark with dogs, but lucky we made it back. #phew

That's all for Day3!

Cousins* Bangkok Travelogue Day 2

So much love for the second day !
Okay there we go ! Genius us asked the reception for the shortest route to our warzone - Platinum Fashion Mall.
Breakfast was complimentary from Hotel 93 but all we had was some toast and egg. Mehh We also decided to just go out to the streets for breakfast for the rest of the days, which was the best choice ever. Who eats hotel breakfast in Bangkok.

Group picture before Joyce's arrival!

Joyce came over on our second day but scumbag us decided to just go shopping first without her.

HELLO PLATINUM MALL!

The hotel staff did an amazing job to assist Joyce to find us. I was shopping with Don and Kaizhi before I decided to just shop by myself. Efficiency level up!! *dingding*

After our round of shopping at the Platinum,  we had lunch at A&W before some of us decided to head back to the hotel and while on the way back, I had a fall. Well, let's just not talk about it, it was quite embarrassing.

We went to meet the rest at Siam Paragon and continued our adventure.

We were waiting around the Siam Ocean World so I decided to take a picture with the Sharky that had quite a bad tooth decay.

Mr Jones' Orphanage!

It was my second visit and I still salute all the staff for keeping the place so cozy and dust free.

Decided that I should try their strawberry shortcake this time round. #fat.

The Singaporeans' favourite chocolate kit kat cake.

I mean it is everywhere over instagram right, even I had it for my first visit.

And then followed by an failed attempt to find a pastry store, so there's an ...

Attempted an ootd shot by Don

We took the tuktuk to the massage place, the one we chose along the whole stretch was called Number One. wtf. It was recommended by a friend during my January trip and I felt that it was not too bad and so I recommended to the cousins*. Very nice of them to follow my recommendation.

Hello Ruoxuan, Joyce and Jiaqi!

Don don & I

Joyce & I opted for the full body massage and we are required to change into this white robe.
Not bad my eyes look quite big.

Ended the day with the shiok massage and back to the hotel room to crash!

Ghosty Pie says bye.

Cat Store Cafe Hong Kong 啊貓地攤

Meow

On the first day of our Hong Kong trip, Fenny brought Junz and I to the Cat Store Cafe, one of the more popular cat cafes in Hong Kong. Where we also had tea with fen's friend, a Hong Kong beauty blogger.

We had some snacks there (before that we had dim sum and starbucks wtf).
Lovin' the efforts that they had all cats designed on most of the food item.
Well, its a cat cafe after all !

Fen's hot chocolate with marshmallow ( HKD $45)

So cute eh , they drew cat faces on the marshmallow.
I've drawn on ketchup rice, cakes, crepes but never on marshmallow. #idea

AND ALSO TOAST.

太可爱了吧 ?

Decor

So sorry I didn't take any picture of the cats there. I was terrified.
I never liked animals and I have this sensitive nose allergy shit so I avoid having contact with animals and dust as much as I can.

Here's one from Fenny's blog

Nonetheless, the cafe was cosy and decked with 5-6 cats (?) and they have cats themed items everywhere. From table top to food design and all the cats are free to roam around the cafe so you get to play with them if they are not sleeping.

Unfortunately, the minimum spending was quite a turn off, each of us was required to get an item to secure seats. So I ordered a tea item.
AM I REALLY IN A CAT CAFE ?

To be honest, when you go to a themed cafe/restaurant, do not expect too much for the food and service. It's a themed cafe after all! You are paying for the experience. Nonetheless, I'm glad that the food we had was decent. :)

Based on my experience, the cafe was really popular and it can be quite tricky to get seats, therefore I would suggest to give them a call to do a phone reservation. (We were walk-ins, and very lucky to get a table for four)

Location wise... it can be easily missed out. It is about ten minutes walk from the Causeway Bay MTR Station but the cafe is located at the third floor of the building, where patrons have to enter a guard gate to enter the building and take the freaky old-school lift up.

Picture with Sharon to end the tea break.
Burrrrrr.
