July Highlights! | Metier X, Kaviel's 23rd , SOD Cafe, Le Bistrot du Sommelier

Hello August!
And it means it is time for the July highlights!

One of the greatest highlights of the month has to be Metier X!
What's better to play percussion ever again <3

I believe most of us had mixed feelings that day for :
1. It's the first time we legit full band
2. It might be the last time in forever that we will play together
3.Our hardwork of 12 weeks finally paid off
4. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO ON FRIDAYS NOW?

I miss everyone now :(

Also, special thanks to all who came down to support, it really means a lot of me and all of us.
<3

Before the concert day, Vigi, Ys , Addy and myself had lunch at the recently raved SOD cafe. It was kinda in our area so we popped by for lunch before getting our stuff done.  Food was decent just that... it wasn't filling enough.

This is what everyone was going for, the SOD Cafe Bubble Tea ($4.50).
The milk tea is average, but they had a good selection of toppings and we had fun with the dripper of course.
The boys ordered truffles fries  while we just take only, it's not bad!

Vigi and I shared the Chicken Supreme ($9.50) and  Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Prawns ($13.50). We really liked the flavours of the food, just a pity that the portion was too small for our appetite. :/

Addison had this Wild Berries & Banana Pancakes ($7.50), 10/10 for presentation but the portion really can be better!

All in all, the food was good, and hopefully it would be better the next visit!

Later that week,I also went for Kaviel's drinking, I mean birthday party @ Hotel Jen Tanglin !
Tanglin Mall would remind me of my mug at starbucks days cause that's how I spent my last semester on.
It was my first time at the hotel so my friend and I went to explore a little before heading up to the party.
Not bad eh the place, Kaviel's room wow-ed me even more,it so big and it even have a decent sized kitchenette.

The balloon sculpture so pretty I also want!
Thanks for having me, Kaviel!

I also took the opportunity to catch up with the old and new blogger friends!

I liked the sake the most.

Summing off the month , Amelia and I had dinner at le Bistro du Sommelier, a french restaurant along Armenian Street. Prior to it, there were very little information about the menu and prices about the restaurant but all we knew was that they had good reviews. We shared two appetizers, a main and a dessert. I had a glass of red and the bill came up to $145, certainly a treat for ourselves. We had butter and bread to start with but i loved to dip with the escargots. No introduction needed on that. The other appetizer we had was the frog legs $26. While it was a pleasant surprise for Amelia, I found it a little dry for my liking.

Since we were first timers, we asked for recommendations from our server and she gladly did. We had the duck leg confit. It was paired with some greens and quinoa at the bottom. I especially liked the quinoa. It came with a lavender/floral fragrance and later I realise that the chef added strawberries in it ! It was light and refreshing to go with the duck confit.

And for dessert we had their soufflé , the staff Shared with us that the flavour of the soufflé changes every 3 months and currently it is the fresh apricot. There was also white chocolate ice cream and fresh apricot slices to go with it at the side.
