Superstars of MAGIC 4

One of the highlights from my Genting trip over the Jubilee Weekend was the Superstars of Magic 4. It was one of the factors that I considered if I should go, I mean I never liked Magic Shows. . I had this irritating thought that ALL magic shows are about body cutting, bo liao tricks, and meh scary dangerous acts. And since I'm not a fan, then I should let somebody else have the opportunity instead. Thankfully, Jocelyn and I wanted a breather sooooooooooo badly, so I thought aiya, just go la, if don't like then just follow media release lor. Anyway stay in Singapore also boring and I miss the food in Genting.

And I went ahead. Resorts World Genting
I was wrong, it was so different from what I thought it would be. Running for its fourth year, the organisers had put in seven illusionist from different parts of the world, featured on various news/shows/platform. We managed to catch six of them live that night.

The starting act was by Jay Mattioli who was also the host for that night. He was one of the finalist from America's Got Talent and now a celebrity Magician.

Jeff Lee from Taiwan, is an award-winning magician who performs with TV magic and modern music. A kind of modern magic that I had not seen before, I would say good coordination between the video and his seamless act.

The only lady in the show, Alana Moelmann, is from Germany. She's also known as the new generation princess of magic, where her act includes producing human hands out of her leather jacket! And which that jacket, she has six hands and all of them can move at the same time!

Followed by cutie pie, One Gun from Korea, changes his clothes in split seconds from different colors and design. Both T-shirt and pants! I'm not quite sure if I was really paying attention to his act or his looks.

Another American Illusionist, Joseph Gabriel, also regarded as the Godfather of Dove Magic, presented to us a breathtaking act with his doves and gooses. He is also the first magician to perform on the broadway. I love his act the most. Seriously mind blown.

Ted Kim, another South Korean illusionist brought us the most simple yet well choreographed routine act using the modern screen mapping technology and LED protector. It looked so simple and easy but I'm sure there were so much work he had to do before putting up an act like this. Kudos to his efforts and patience!

The closing act was by Jay where he presented the values he believes in, and the message he wants to rely to his audience.

The show changed my perspective of a magic show, it can be so simple, no risky at all but yet so entertaining! I think like many magic shows, Jay did a good job on engaging the audience in the act. Nothing fancy and suitable for all ages, weak heart or not.  We missed Shawn Farquhar from Canada on our show, who was very good with his cards, and one of the few magicians who managed to fool Penn and Teller on their TV series. Thank you RWG for the great seats!

Resort Seafood, Genting Highlands

The place where you have the warmest greeting from Genting.

YUMMY DO IT YOURSELF STEAMBOAT!

Resorts World Genting

Steamboat is an Asian's favourite, be it festive or not, when in doubt, it's steamboat time.
That being said, surely having steamboat up in the highlands is a MUST!

Resorts World Genting

Resort Seafood offers a variety of soup stock, and we had the spicy yet nourishing Tom Yum + Herbal Chicken soup bases served in a "yin yang" style hot pot. Of course there are other options and combinations you can choose from, for example the resort fish head stock, the kampong chicken soup or maybe the Spicy Soup!

After selecting the soup base, it's time for the spread. The Resort Seafood offers a wide range of variety of  ala carte produce to choose from but if you are as lazy as me, go for the set menus from RM108 nett to RM 638nett.

There were also specialities dishes prepared by the kitchen, some of them includes the Australian Snow Crab, Boston Lobsters and many more!
Resorts World Genting

We started our meal with Genting's specially grown and imported Pu'er.
Followed by the freshly blended sour plum drink.

That's not all yet! We were treated to a vanilla Gelato Steamboat Ice cream topped with plenty of fruits.

I think what was most memorable to me was that our set menu includes ostrich meat (!!!) I did not try it but my peers said that it tasted much like pork. I particularly liked the Herbal chicken soup base as it was light yet flavourful, so addictive in that weather! Not to mention that the ingredients were very fresh as well. Of course, the small talks during the meal with the bloggers that led us to know each other better. :)

Behind-the-Scenes Tour @ Resorts World Genting!

Like its name, the tour shows us how the operation runs behind the scenes.
I would super recommend to everyone! Not just suitable for teenagers and demandful customers should go on the tour so they know how things are runned and stop being so annoying. #PEACE/

First stop : Genting International Showroom

The newly furnished Genting International showroom can cater up to 1000 people, equipped with latest sound and lighting system  as well as theatrical stage equipments.

We had a chance to stand on stage to get a feel of how well the performers could see the audience and that feeling was great. I miss performing , and here's the poser me.

We then move on to the second level where the sound and light system and crew were.

The manager explained with much detailed about the crazy amount of buttons, its purposes and many technical terms that the sound and light engineers use. We were also given a mini pop quiz so we really paid attention!

Not just the theory, they were brave enought to risk their equipment and let us control it !!!!
It was so fun seeing different effects showing on the stage!

Second stop : Snow World

It's my third visit to the Snow World and it was an eye opener this time round.
I don't just get to have my Princess Elsa moment, but through the Behind-The-Scenes Tour, I had a feel of how it is like to run Snow World's operation.

Most importantly, they gave the answer to everyone's doubt to :

"REALLY IS REAL SNOW MEH"

Yes wor, the snow they make themselves one wor.

We were first brought into this room where the snow making machines were at, and followed by a simple guide on how snow is formed and how it is produced in the attraction!

The gang then put on our Barney colored themed coats and gloves, & off we go into the magical snow world!

Can you see the square boxes ? This is where all the snow is made when we are asleep !

We were then brought into the Lovers' Cave, not to do anything lovey dovey but to make our own snow using water and some powder. Super cool and memorable souvenir for us to bring home.

#colddieme

Jocelyn decided that she also want her Let-It-Go moment.

Third Stop : See Do Eat Workshop

"Food!", exclaimed me. At this workshop, we had two chefs from their respective department coming over to guide us on how to make a appetizing sinful donut and super kawaii bento.

Since we had such a big group, we were split into two group, while I did the donut first.

Chef hard at work
 & Chef's creation

"Angie, go make me a donut!"
" Huh, you trust me ah wtf"
" okay I make you aixin donut"

Oops, looks abit like da bian, I hope it didn't change your love for donuts or make you feel like shitting now. My sincere apologies.  Le wifey's one was much nicer, I think it's because she just return from Vegas and you know..

Then to making a bento!

Bunny rice for you ?

This activity reminds me so much of my meido days!
Jocelyn and I took turns so that's her attempting to put the seaweed cutouts on her bear bear rice.

yum !

Horizon 50

I thought by letting us enjoy the food was the last stop, but it wasn't ! We were brought over to the latest edition in Resort World Genting, the Horizon 50. Just like Singapore, RWG is also celebrating their 50th anniversary since it was founded. Certainly, we need to know a little of the past, present, and future of this wonderful highlands. The Horizon 50 showcases its history, amazing scales of current operations and achievements and a slight preview of what we can expect after its facelift.

As you may tell from my face, I was already super wore off by the time I was presented the certificate. Who says Genting has nothing to do now?

Behind-the-Scenes Tour are subjected to availability, priced at RM28 per pax, RM 25 for Genting Rewards Member and tour dates/timing are available at www.rwgenting.com

That's all folks.

A.
