24 hours in Genting Highland, Malaysia.

Technically I spent a little more than just 24 hours if I include the travel time though.
#scam #bloggerscam.

The kind people at the Resort World Genting has invited me over to the highlands during the Jubilee Weekend to enjoy the good mountain good water wtf. I've been to Genting many many times and I brought Jocelyn with me this time round!

Fun fact : Do you know that the Genting Highlands were also celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2015 too ?

I bet you don't, but what we all know it that they are having a facelift and will be introducing many world class facilities. While construction is going on everywhere ( & we can't wait to see the real deal), here's how I spent a full Saturday in Genting Highland.

Together with the bloggers, we arrived at 5am in the morning and was put to sleep checked in to our rooms

First World Hotel , "XYZ Deluxe Room"

The toilet now is separated into 3 section, the wash up area, the shower area, and the toilet business area (if you get what I mean)

The both of us took a short nap & the hyperactive us couldn't stay still so we went for Dim Sum breakfast at 好友记. My initial breakfast place was Genting Palace where I tasted the BEST custard bun yet, but it was closeeeeed. Later I found out that they no longer serve breakfast. WHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

The bill came up to be RM63, and because the food took sooooo long to come, we decided to scrap the idea of going to the strawberry park and just take the Genting Skyway to and fro before meeting the rest for our lunch, their brunch. We managed to score some cool shots for our instagram hehehehehe.

An one way ride on the skyway cost RM6.40 and RM12.80 nett for a return trip.

It was my first time on the Genting Skyway, and it was super terrifying for me. And I'm not even afraid of heights! I was quite scared because we were heading downwards and also we can't see anything. When the gondola suddenly slowed down I thought we were stuck and going to die. #paniccells.

We walked around, take some super poser pictures and head back!
But if you wake up earlier, you can pop by the strawberry farm, there's so much more things to do there.

Heading back to meet the rest for another meal at the Coffee Terrace. The Coffee Terrace is one of the better place for buffet and I blogged about it but I can't find the link, will update soon!

On our table is Jocelyn, SuAnn, SuAnn's boyfriend and Trista, missing Gerald.

Bloggers mean photo taking everywhere when there's time!

We all then gathered for the first program that was lined up for us,

the Behind-The-Scenes Tour.

We covered four stations in the tour where we were briefed by the crew on how the operations works!
Resorts World Genting
@ Genting International Showroom, we were exposed to the technical terms of the sound and light systems and various stage effects as well as a little history on the place.

Then to Snow World, where I was convinced that they really used REAL SNOW.

Play with some real food at the See Do Eat Workshop!

Each of us were presented a Certificate of Achievement at the end of the tour, I wasn't expecting that so I went a little child-like.

Together with the bloggers we also went to the Genting Visitors' Galleria where we were briefed on what are the new installations that are put in place. Eg, the new skyway and new extension building of First World Hotel.

Dinner at the new Resort Seafood!

I remember that area used to be another buffet area... but now it is the new Resort Seafood where we can get our steamboat cravings satisfied ! Super shiok!

The cooling weather with the heavenly soup bases, what's the best word to describe it ? #shiokcells.

Excuse me, it is only 8.30pm. The night certainly did not just end here. Off we go for,

Superstars of Magic 4 !

An East meets West magic variety show, putting seven world-class illusionist together on  one stage.

I was NEVER a fan of magic shows but this was good! Thank you RWG for putting us at the VIP seats, we had a superb view of what was going on stage and I especially liked Joseph Gabriel's performance while the cutest illusionist has to be One Gun from Korea.

I even scored a selfie with him. woohoo
Simply just wow-ed me when he brought out a freaking goose from his SOFT fabric.
HOW DID HE EVEN DO IT.

Too mind blown, and too tired.
Jocelyn and I went back to rest before heading down to meet YingZi and Conan, and their KL friends! Since we was finally 21,we took a tour to the casino after that and slept like a pig.
THIS,  was how I spend a splendid 24 hours up in the highlands.

Staying in KL : Capri by Fraser

Over the weekend where we attended the Comic Fiesta in KL, Malaysia, we stayed over at Capri by Fraser. One of the annual Cousin* staycation was held at Capri by Fraser, Changi City and it left a good impression for me so I was a little happy inside when we knew that we have a night in the one in KL and was secretly hoping that its standard would not fail my expectation. So happy it didn't. The stay was more than just pleasant, we got to know each other better and Noelle taught me how to cook.
The lobby

The boss got a 3 bedroom suite and we were actually expecting more than just five of us but anyway we all just WOW-ED at how awesome it was as we removed our shoes. My pictures don't do justice at all, it looks like a newly BTO 4 room flat, slightly bigger. The toilet that was in Noelle & my room was massive! So happy I don't wanna go home, say real one.

Boss say the room was about SGD $300 ++ , that's about SGD $100 per room, OKAY WHAT!!!

Even have an infinity pool facility

Anyway, location wise wasn't really for the tourists. It wasn't really easy to find and there isn't much around unless the one in Singapore whereby the Expo and Changi City Point are just stones thrown away. But I would strongly recommend this place for families and friends (like us) who drives up to KL.

Noelle and I also set up a pop-up sorta meido cafe, led by the two of us wtf.

Bye bye great stay !

#migupPenang : Heritage Boutique accommodation at Hotel Penaga

Hello to another episode of #migupPenang! Well, you know I spent three nights with the Mig.me team & bloggers (argh miss them already) and not sure if you realised but we changed lodging on the last night. The team decided to give us a good night rest after the hectic activities which I will share soon.

We checked into Hotel Penega. Ruiying, Hazel and I past by the hotel during our arrival day and the taxi driver causally mentioned that Hotel Penega is a nice hotel , atas, blah blah blah... basically the nice words and Hazel was like,"We are staying there the day after tomorrow"  #insertsmirkface

Hotel Penega is a luxury boutique hotel located along Chulia Street as well. I mean, there's so many boutique hotels in Georgetown and perhaps all are equally convenient and what's so special about Hotel Penega ?

We were brought on to a tour after our check-in and it changed my views about the place. The hotel was converted from a cluster of 15 pre-war terrances and shophouses in 2008. Now, the boutique hotel has 45 rooms which makes them the big brother among the other boutique hotel in that area. . There were four types of rooms available, the Clarke Terraces  , Transfer suites, Hutton Rooms, Penega Suites.

Welcome to my mansion.

So happy we checked into one of the Clarke Terraces. I had no idea what the hotel manager was talking about when she told me that all 5 of us were staying in a room. I was like what? Another dorm ??? She gave up explaining to this dumb block and brought us straight to the unit! Then, wild jaw drop moment happened.

Each room is furnished with antique pieces of furniture and unique artwork contributed by artists from Southeast Asia and Australia.
Behind the door was a back yard + 4 seater Jacuzzi !!!!

Just FYI, ALL rooms has a Jacuzzi spa bath .
Not so mini minibar

Awesome pantry

EH THEN SLEEP WHERE?

Overview from the stairways

The size of the unit in level one was like those chalets in Pasir Ris that we used to party in and I didn't expect so much. WOW level was about 500 already at that time. We walked up the stairs and there were 2 rooms !

Wait, take picture with the full length mirror first.

Both rooms were equipped with double sized beds and a toilet each. One of the rooms also had a balcony.

Hazel, Renee and I stayed in the other room, even more gorgeous . Look at that bed frame!

We had a great night stay, and I would strongly recommend to families or friends travelling in four. Our spacious suite had us and our Penang friends for a round of chit chat and drinks. And all of us sat comfortably.

Hotel Penaga also have other facilities like spa/ massage, conference rooms and dining area.

If you want to have a quiet moment in the bustling street, you might want to have your dinner at the restaurant like we did. Alvin did a mini presentation with us so we had dinner in a lounge locating in the Tanglung Bar. Check out the pretty lighting in the bar.

The Tanglung bar offers a variety of bar snacks and beverages. Perfect for solo travelers !

Dinner was prepared by the Cinnamon Resturant where they serve Western and Asian cuisine.

The hotel also have a Business centre and Library  where guests can relax, read a book in there or maybe ring up your family back home.

 Wake up to Hotel breakfast!

One of the things I look forward to when I stay in a hotel would be the morning breakfast spread! Together with the ladies, we took a 2 mins walk back to the main lobby where the Cinnamon Restaurant was located!

I wasn't feeling too well that morning so I didn't take much, just a little each . I think it's because I didn't want to leave. :(

Not forgetting the little garden we walked through to the main lobby for breakfast!

Swimming pool!
