Smooth & Healthy hair with TRESemmé Expert Selection: Keratin Smooth and Platinum Strength

This post is dedicated to all my dear friends who asked me why my hair wouldn't get frizzy/ is always so shiny/ what treatment have I done.

My answer : Use TRESemmé Expert Selection Hair shampoo and conditioner only.

Hair conditioner 340g ($11.50), Hair shampoo 650g ($13.90)

A month ago, I was invited to a new launch for TRESemmé Expert Selection: and got to know more about the products. It was the launch for the TRESemmé Expert Selection: Keratin Smooth and Platinum Strength.

Prior to the event, the BFF has been raving about the brand but I did not really care about it because I thought... the name already sounds so good and expensive, surely the products will be expensive. I was wrong! The brand has a wide range of hair shampoo and conditioner to cater for all needs and are affordably priced. They are exclusively sold at Guardian Health and Beauty stores and cost not more than $14.

During the launch, we learned about the products and there were live demostration by the hair stylist from Artisan Hair to show us how easily we can style our hair just by blow-drying it!

The Keratin Smooth Shampoo is specially formulated with lower sulfates and helps to restore protein. When used with the Keratin Smooth Conditioner, it nourishes each strand and keep hair shiny and manageable. It does has a lighter texture and is more gentle in comparison to the Platinum Strength Shampoo.

The Platinum Strength Shampoo is able to repair up to 2 years of damage in just 5 washes and protects against future breakage with it's Advanced Renewing Complex. The Platinum Strength Conditioner protects the hair while keeping it moisturized and ready for styling.

Just getting to know the products are not enough, the kind folks gave Deborah and I a chance to experience it ourselves at Artisan Hair, a hair salon located at Holland Village to try it out ourselves!

During the session, my stylist mixes the shampoo by first using the  TRESemmé Deep Cleanser then adds the Keratin Smooth Shampoo. The results were amazing. I felt clean at the scalp but at the some time my hair is smooth and shiny! That was also when I learned that you can move around different ranges each day or mix it up to have the best effect for your hair!

Thank you to the Artisan Hair team for the nicely blowed-dry hair for our tai-tai session!

The PR team also have me a set of shampoo & conditioner for the two range and I'm been using the hair shampoo and conditioner diligently for the past one month (2 weeks break when I was in Melbourne) To my surprise,my hair remains silky smooth! The shampoo has improved my hair condition and is able to maintain it even without using two weeks (I was using those lousy hotel shampoo) and survived all those strong winds. I personally love the Platinum Strength range more than the Keratin Smooth. I think that the effect on the hair is stronger, I could already feel the difference the first time I washed with the shampoo (by myself).  TRESemmé shampoo is really a dream come true for lazy bums like myself who do not have the time and luxury to blow dry in salons. Then why waste money when you can achieve the same results in the comfort of your homes right ? I would say that I have converted to be a TRESemmé Expert Selection user.

p/s : What works for me may not work for you, so try it out yourself and let me know what you think!

Sponsored Review : Weekend Lunch at Margarita's @ Dempsey Hill

"If life gives you limes, make margaritas!"😈

When @jthejon asked me out for a meal at Dempsey Hill, I knew I'm in treat. I'm not a frequent up the hills but I do know that good food is a basic requirement for restaurants to station themselves there.  We first arrived at the doorstep of Margarita's, with me head full of uncertainty. I mean I never had Mexican food before I don't even know what to expect! Don't ask me about burritos, I know nothing about them.

Anytime is Margarita time, and as the shop name suggests, we were quickly served a tasty, crushed-ice margarita each. Except that both drinks were different!
House Margarita

If you have not already realise, the margarita on top has a dehydrated lime slice while the one lower has a dehydrated orange slice. The House Margarita contains Corralejo Tequila Reposado, Patron Citronge with fresh lime juice while the Grand Margarita has grand marnier, a orange-flavoured liquor, inside of the Patron Citronge, with fresh lime juice. The Grand Marnier has masked the tequila and make it easier to drink while the House Margarita would win any true blue margarita fan anytime!

Grand Margarita

Appetizers

We started our meal with Chile con queso melted cheese with Taco Chips, a classic Mexican favourite for all to enjoy. Served in a hot-pan, mix the custardy cheese well with the other ingredients and dip it with the taco chips, it is so good you wouldn't stop!

Bacon Rellenos
The Bacon Relleno is a typical Mexican appetiser, served with a twist at the Margarita's. Each jalapeno is wrapped with Bacon and stuffed with cheese, shrimps and other mexican spices. Who would have thought that bacon and shrimps would go well. Oh, and caution on this, bite carefully or you would have a flamed tongue!

Here's a peek when it is halved.

Mains

I'm was feeling sorry and guilty before the mains hit us. The portions were huge and the poor manager took pity on us and changed one of the mains to a bar snack. Best decision made ever, our server Rachelle was really patient and well familiarise with what was on the menu, the ingredients and every little detail. Basically anything we asked her, she is able to answer us.

She also shared with us that Mexican food are normally served with different spices and bigger portions for sharing. In my opinion, food made for sharing normally taste better, not sure why.
Mini Chimichanga
Patrons are given the choice to choose the meat but we had the one filled with pulled pork. The pork was flavourful and the chimichanga was crispy on the outside, just like the Chinese spring rolls that we have. Okay, #asianproblems. This version of the chimichanga was from the bar bite menu and I'm certain it would definitely go well with a nice catch-up and a ice cold beer or a classic margarita!

Alongside with the Chimichanga is the Chicken Fajitas!
I realised that the Mexican Food culture is very versatile while patron can always decide what are the meat that they prefer. The Fajita is the combination of grilled meat wrapped by a corn tortilla or taco and paired with sauces of your choice! We had to hands-on to get food into our tummy, I guess moving more would allow us to eat more?

We later learned that it is the chicken breast meat and now, how did they make it so flavourful and tender! My favourite has got to be the grill chicken breast meat, I think it will make a great daily salad protein. At the second half of the dinner, I found myself skipping the tortilla and just munching on the grilled meat, it was so tender and well marinated! I personally think it would be a good beginner dish for people like me who has never tried Mexican food, it is very much of a local taste.

Desserts

Kahlua Tiramisa
As the name suggest, it contains Kahlua, a coffeed-flavoured, sugar based liqeur that has rum, corn syrup and vanilla beans which made the dish well balanced. The cake was very moist as well.

The next one caught us by surprise, it is the Frozen Mexican Chocolate chile Mousse. Unlike the chocolate mousse that we see often, the Frozen Mexican chocolate mousse is a chocolate ice cream made in house topped with different ingredients to create a very unique experience for your palette.

The toppings includes almond flakes, olive oil and chili powder, the taste experience is beyond words, and it varies from one to another, depending on your taste buds. Someone to share with friends and explore while dining at the Margarita's!

Interior

Adding on to the authenticity of the Mexican vibes, we were told that everything in the store were directly imported from Mexico, hand picked by the owners. The passion of the owners' for their love towards the Mexican food and culture can be deeply felt through the restaurant settings.

This is a sponsored review but I am already looking forward to hosting more gatherings at the Margarita's! The food is affordably priced and were mostly meant for sharing. Definitely a good experience and great afternoon spent there.

To the Alive Musuem!

This is like super back date until I can't remember when did we went. So long that I actually managed to look slimmer now. >.<

I was super excited when Andy asked me along with Joyce and Don to the Alive Museum. I was looking forward to it because I saw too many happy pictures all over my social media with friends who went to the one at Korea. Finally it is here in SG!!!!

I changed my opinion after five minutes in the museum. I freaked out. First, I wasn't someone who is comfortable towards the idea of having someone else to snap for me, selfies anytime. The photo spots were so near and there were so many people around, nearly pulled my hair. Having said that, we were there on a weekday evening. I think it was more of my problem than the museum, I just couldn't handle it. I just feel very stressed out I dont know why! The same thing happened at the similar museum at RWS. FML.

Don and I were helping each other with the pictures and to make it worst, I didn't bring my camera. *stabs self*  All my picture were taken by my iPhone. One thing I've learnt is that you have to be quick and accurate, to be considerate. I mean you can be one that takes multiple shots for your picture perfection but seriously, aint nobody have time for that yo.

And it is really awkward to have someone waiting for you to be done with your shots. *insert awkward turtle handsign*

Nonetheless, I was quite fascinated by how it was in real life versus how it looked like in my pictures.

Look at some visuals that I have.
