Japan Trip Part 5 :Hokkaido - Otaru

Next stop - A bus ride to Otaru.
We took a bus outside the Hokkaido Shiroi Koibito Chocolate Factory, the ride was about 1 hour plus and sends us straight to Otaru Station. Yay to a day tour at Otaru!

As we all know, Otaru is a small harbour city and was used as a fishing port.
Now, many of the old warehouses and buildings has been given a new look therefore a pretty street view now. Clarke Quay cannot even fight wtf.

We took the JR Bus ( we got JR Pass ma and happily thought we can use it and don't have to pay)
Here's other buses for reference at Bus stop : Nishimachi Kita 20-chime
JR Bus:
札樽線[高速小樽]
Chuo Bus:小樽線(円山経由)・札岩線(岩内号)・札幌・ニセコ線(ニセコ号)・札美線(積丹号)・札幌・余市線(余市号)

Here's my welcome to otaru selfie.
Here's another one.

Main Street.
Basically we did nothing much but to walk around, eat and enjoy the scenery.

I'm not a fan of flowers but there's sunflowers everywhere see already also happy.
It's like almost every lamp post has sunflowers. Street flowers or what!!!
Yup just me & myduffyboy <3

Wall of the City Museume

Lunch at the Sankaku fish market!

Monster fish!!! I don't even but it does look adorable in its way :)

YUM

I think this is the most convenience place to get seafood but I still recommend to go to the fish market. Cheaper and I think fresher too!

The Otaru Canal (小樽運河, Otaru Unga)
We took quite some time to locate the canal but actually it is about 10 minutes walk from the Otaru Station. Travelling in Japan really need a lot walking..

Over at the Sakaimachi Street

We also visited the Museum of Venetian Art but didn't take any pictures. Oops!

Here's some merchandise selling in front of the shop front.

Loves,
A.
