//hk061016 : Day Trip to Macau

We woke up at 8 plus thinking that we should scrapped off the plans to Macau...
We thought we would be super late and would probably be missing out a lot of things to do/eat and all and not gonna be enjoying ourselves there. Thankfully we made it.

Our hotel provides a shuttle service to Langham Place, Temple Street and China Star Ferry Terminal and the thing is that it takes about 30 mins for us to get to the ferry terminal via the shuttle bus. We took the 9am shuttle bus from our hotel and reached at about 9.20 at the ferry terminal, quickly bought tickets from one of the tour agencies at the left side of the terminals and managed to onboard the 9.30am ferry to Macau.

Tip: there are people selling tickets right after you come up the escalator at a cheaper price (Really!!!) and most people would ignore but we didn't. We got our tickets from them at SGD$62 for a return trip and within the next 5 mins we cleared the immigration and got on to Macau.

Still got time to take picture wtf.

We were on the TurboJet ferries which had more sailing time options (so it is a bit more expensive) and both of us slept throughout the whole 1 hour journey.

Moving around was rather easy, I followed the itinerary guide from The Hungry Geeks and improvised a little here and there so I hope mine is a version up from theirs!

Getting to the shuttle bus terminal - there's a underground tunnel once you exit the ferry terminal, just go down the escalator and walk through it. The bus terminal is directly opposite the ferry terminal .

There will be ALOT of tour services personnel trying their luck to persuade you to use their car services and what not but there's really free shuttle service, just opposite the terminal.

While on the ride....

We took a spin around the Ventian and walked over to the Taipa Village for lunch. Just a 5 minutes walk.

We only manage to find the Pork Chop Bun shop after our lunch and I strongly suggest to just head over to this place for a meal before going anywhere. The cafe food we had was average and not worth the mention.

We walked around a little and took the local bus to the Ruins of the St Paul! It was interesting to hear the bus station names in three languages, namely English, Cantonese and Portuguese.

Macau Public Bus

The bus stops here are crazy it is soooooo difficult to locate. We alight opposite the Senoda Square and we decided to come here for there is several things to look at. We covered Senoda Square, Ruins of St Paul, Lou Kau Mansion, the Museum of Macau,

shops along the street

This mango shop looks really popular among the mainland chinese, we didn't manage to try it but will do if there's another chance! But again, it is probably thai inspired so ASEANS like us can just give it a miss.

With the help of the locals, we self-nagivated to the next bus stop to take the public bus to the Macau Tower. We watched the sun set and people jumping off from the building.

Tip: Just go to the highest level and then down to the main deck. You will be seeing hell lesser people for a better view and enjoy yourselves better.

I got our tickets from Klook just when we reached there, fuss-free and cheaper for the visit. Highly recommended!

By the time the sun set, we were exhausted, we took the free shuttle service back to City of Dreams, and walked over to the Venetian to walk around a little before heading back to Hong Kong Island.

Of course there were more places that can been seen and visited, but the crowd was really a turn off. Both are us were really exhuasted and we just went back to Hong Kong island.
