It's been quite a crazy month, flooded with school assignments, overdue work, crazy schedule and SG haze. Before I go bonkers, I managed to give myself a day off (thanks to the SG elections) and went to JB for a chill out day with some of my uni-mates! I don't know when we started a mini whatsapp group outta the clique and we've hanging out! Prior to the trip, I (me being a instawhore) repeated told them that we are going to take many many many pictures like as though we doing photoshoot. Thankfully they agreed, and eventually I really did turn them into vaninstapire. A term that yourapplepie use to describe how someone is so addicted to take pictures for his/her instagram feed.
First time was to Neway Karaoke ! We often meet up to sing, yes.. kbox inspiring singers. And we had buffet lunch while singing too. This Kenneth presented his student card and we had 10% off the total bill! YAY on that! We went for the K Lunch promotion between 1100-1300 for RM26. #totallyworthit.

We took a cab to KSL to shop as it was Eunice first trip to JB and also we were super full from the buffet at Neway. The taxi ride cost RM 7 there and RM8 back! Remember to ask the driver to charge by meter. We cabbed back to City Square instead of the place we wanted to due to bad traffic conditions but it was quite a easy walk to the hippy Jalan Dhoby !
To be honest, the food was quite good, I felt in love with the toast bread but I don't think I would re-visit. The drinks menu was quite limited and did not interest us at all. However their coffee seems not bad, do give it a try if you are a coffee locer. Service was generally good but inconsistent. Nonetheless, it's a nice pictures for foodporn and really well done interior. haha.

The Ice-cream Project serves nitrogen ice-cream and I was a little disappointed by the lack of ice cream flavours available. In general, I LOVE nitrogen mainly because it is made on the spot, most of the time by scoop, which also explains that steep price.
Weird that they had more tea selections than ice cream. :/

Before hopping to the next café, we decided to just stroll around the neighbourhood. We found this lovely piece of mural just along Jalan Tan Hiok Nee and yup vaminstapire time.
We also spotted an artist workshop where the artist herself sell her handmade dolls and some beautifully water-colored greeting cards at affordable prices. I think it's quite a hidden gem so do look out for it when you are there!
The container café that I wanted to try when I first heard about cafehopping in JB!
We walked down further and spotted a cultural museum or something like that. On it's second level, there were exhibits from the Chinese culture and some local exhibits. It was a nice shooting ground to me.
After all those walking and disgestion, we are ready for the last café of the day- Bev C'afe.
A fashion boutique on the ground level and café at the second, the café serves tarts/pies and the ice cubes drinks that's all over pinterest.
So good. The taste of the truffle was just nice, just that I didn't like the raisins in it. Overall good!
Unfortunately we were all tea people and get a cuppa tea ice cube each, no milk cubes visuals! Oops
Not to mention, it's an epic place for pictures!
